About Bella Familia Pizza
In 2008, the Thorsons decided to take their passion of cooking for friends and turn it into something that they could share with others. From their humble beginning and through the years Bella Familia has transformed into a unique mobile pizza experience. Growing from one wood fired trailer to two and then adding their unique wood fired food truck to the fleet in 2016 has made it possible for them to cook for any size crowd.
Events from weddings, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, birthday parties, to corporate events, local farmers’ markets, wineries and breweries, they've done it all.
All of their creations are made by hand, from their hand-made dough recipe, to the produce they source from local growers Bella Familia will be sure to bring a smile to your event.
Now Matt Williams, a local lover of food and wine best known for operating Café Zoro and the current owner of Gourmet Garage, has purchased the popular catering company from from colleague Scott Thorson. “The branding will stay separate, but I’m excited to incorporate Bella Familia into Gourmet Garage. Scott has done an amazing job researching things like the best flour for pizza dough, the best toppings --- even the best water temperature to cook with. It fits with my philosophy that good ingredients create good results,” Williams said.
Williams has come full circle, returning to a pizzeria business where his love for food began. He took over operations of Bella Familia on April 1, 2023. The catering company features a food truck that Williams says is visually stunning; a semi-truck that is mounted with a storage container reconfigured into a state-of-the-art kitchen. Williams plans to make the employees currently working the truck part of his Gourmet Garage team and marry everybody all together. The emphasis, as always, will be on the quality of food. "It's about the quality of the pizza-and our ability to get it out at a busy event."
